It starts today near Clarence Pier. Here are several pictures of what people can expect to see as the beach is enlarged and strengthened to protect against rising sea levels and more extreme weather.
The Clarence Pier area work will last up to 18 months, and the scheme for the length of the seafront will take up to 2026.
