Portsmouth MP hits out at Dominic Cummings over breaking of lockdown rules
and live on Freeview channel 276
It was revealed last week that Boris Johnson’s primary adviser, Dominic Cummings, made a 260-mile trip from his home in London to be near his parents who live in Durham.
Mr Cummings has since said he was seeking childcare for his children after his wife displayed symptoms of the virus.

Hide AdWhile Mr Cummings’ decision was backed by Conservative MP for Fareham, Suella Braverman, his actions have been condemned by Portsmouth South MP, Stephen Morgan, who has demanded the prime minister explains the actions of his chief adviser.
Mr Morgan said: ‘The British public deserve answers on Dominic Cummings behaviour. The Prime Minister needs to come to the press conference this afternoon and explain what happened.
‘There cannot be one rule for the Prime Minister’s most senior adviser and another for the rest of us.’
The Labour MP has pointed to the sacrifices being made by city residents in lockdown and has highlighted the potential anger Mr Cummings’ actions could cause.

‘I’ve heard so many heart-felt stories from Portsmouth families unable to see loved ones, grandparents who have not seen their grandchildren for months, or relatives not able to attend funerals of those who have tragically passed away during this crisis.
‘The coronavirus response requires the trust and confidence of the British public. I understand why Portsmouth people are so angry about this and how it is being handled. No one in our city deserves this behaviour from those at the top of government.’
Mr Morgan has called for a ‘swift’ investigation by the Cabinet Office into the incident.
