Portsmouth stays in top 20 of places to set up a business

PORTSMOUTH South MP Flick Drummond has welcomed a survey showing Portsmouth remains in the top 20 UK locations to start up a small business.

The city came in 16th in the study by business information website Informi – the same position as last year.

The organisation studied information from 65 UK towns and cities including the density of small and medium sized businesses (SMEs), digital connectivity and house prices.

‘This is great news for the city and it shows that it has much to offer, especially for companies that are tech start-ups,’ said Mrs Drummond. ‘I hope everyone from estate agents and the Chamber of Commerce to business groups and the council will make sure this becomes a selling point for Portsmouth because I intend to spread the word as much as I can.’
