A SECOND public meeting about proposals for homes to be build between Fareham and Gosport will be taking place tonight.

Gosport politicians will be meeting residents at Woodcot Primary School in Tukes Avenue this evening, to discuss proposals in Fareham Borough Council’s draft local plan for 475 homes to be built nearby – as well as plans for a further 200 homes by Newgate Lane.

The news comes following protests along Newgate Lane last week, as well as a public meeting which was held earlier in the month.

Councillor for Peel Common, Cllr Stephen Philpott, is hosting the meeting.

He said: ‘I am holding a second public meeting to discuss the issues surrounding proposals arising from Fareham that would have a direct impact on residents in both my borough ward and county division.

‘This meeting is aimed at those residents who would not otherwise have been able to come to the meeting at Peel Common Junior School.’

Cllr Philpot says that the leader of Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Sean Woodward, was invited to the event but is unable to attend.
