Still time to have a say over Portsmouth City Council budget

PORTSMOUTH residents are being encouraged to give their views on how the council could save money.

The council says it needs to find another £24m of savings over the next three years.

However, it says the need for cuts has been reduced through income-making schemes such as the Spinnaker Tower sponsorship deal and the property investment strategy – which are said to have brought in an extra £4.48m a year.

Everyone’s views will form part of a consultation running until 9am on Monday.

A survey which asks people how money should be saved is available online at portsmouth.gov.uk/budget-consultation.
