Portsmouth boot sale raises raises £1,000 for charity in two weeks

A HOSPICE has benefitted to the tune of £1,000 from a series of car boot sales in Portsmouth.

The city council-backed events have been supporting The Rowans Hospice, raising the cash since April.

And there is more money still to come as the sales take place until the end of September.

Portsmouth’s culture boss, Councillor Linda Symes said it was an ‘amazing’ achievement.

The next boot sale is on Sunday by Pier Road, Southsea, from 7am to 2pm. Entry is free. Pitches are from £8 to £15.
