Residents invited to '˜push the boat out'

A nine-day event at the Tudor Sailing Club will be offering sessions in sailing, kayaking and a variety of other water sports on Saturday, May 13 from 11am.

The event is running in tandem with a nationwide initiative, led by the Royal Yachting Association, which will see hundreds of people taking part in the sport with open days and taster sessions taking place at sailing clubs and centres across the country.

Commodore Hannah Barnes said: ‘We are inviting the local community to come down to have a go at sailing, gig rowing and kayaking, see what our fantastic, family friendly club has to offer and get involved. Who knows, you might just get hooked.

‘You will need to bring with you is a bucket load of enthusiasm, a pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting wet, a change of clothes, a jacket and a towel.’
