Royal Navy ship helps take away deadly chemicals from Libya

A ROYAL Fleet Auxiliary vessel has assisted in the removal of the last batch of known materials which could be used in the manufacture of chemical weapons from Libya.

RFA Mounts Bay is supporting the Danish-led maritime operation, escorting a Danish transport ship through the Mediterranean as it carried the chemicals, the defence secretary and foreign secretary announced this week.

The deadly chemicals will be taken to a specialised facility to be destroyed.
