SBS hero Ant Middleton to host talk in his home city of Portsmouth

SPECIAL forces hero Ant Middleton will be returning to his home city of Portsmouth to give a talk about his life in the military.

The former Royal Marine, who later joined the Special Boat Service – Britain’s elite maritime assault unit – will be hosting a talk at Portsmouth Guildhall in September.

Ant, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan has become a household name after featuring on several primetime television programmes.

The bearded special forces operator is the chief instructor on Channel 4 hit programme SAS: Who Dares Wins – the latest series of which concluded earlier this month.

He has also stared in a number of other TV programmes including last year’s Mutiny, a big budget reenactment of Captain William Bligh’s journey after the infamous Mutiny on the Bounty, and engineering survival programme, Escape.

Tickets are now on sale for Ant’s visit to Portsmouth, which is due to take place on Saturday, September 8.

An earlier event in Southampton has already sold out.

He said: ‘I’ve been extremely lucky to have some amazing experiences in my life that fuel my appetite for adventure and I can’t wait to share them with you all.’

Ant joined the Royal Engineers at 16 in 1997 before transferring to the Royal Marines in 2002. He joined the SBS – the sister unit of the SAS, in 2008, staying for four years.
