School creates its own poppy field to pay its respects for Armistice Day
St Peter's Catholic Primary School has revealed its pride after creating its own poppy field to commemorate the centenary of Armistice Day.Â
All the children took part in creating the display situated at the front of the school where it is most visible.

Hide AdThe children learnt about Flanders Field where poppy flowers began to grow after the burial of the fallen soldiers, which was the inspiration for the school's creation.Â
'˜All the children took part and we feel it is a fitting tribute,' Nina Pearson, art coordinator, said '˜The children learnt about Flanders Field which was the inspiration for our creation.'
People across Portsmouth will pause to remember those who gave their lives on Sunday.
