Six-year-old girl to have locks cut for charity

AN INSPIRATIONAL girl is donating her hair to raise money for charity.

Erika Catarina, six, is having her long hair cut tomorrow as part of a fundraising drive for the Little Princess Trust.

She will be having the chop despite being on a family holiday in Portugal.

Erika, from Portsmouth, decided that rather than her hair going in the bin, she would donate it to the charity.

As a result it will be both donation money and Erika’s hair that the charity receive, which will be put towards creating wigs for children battling cancer.

Tamara Tame, 21, is Erika’s aunt. She said: ‘It was just an idea that her and her mum came up with one day. As a family we try to do quite a lot for charity – we did the Race For Life two years ago, for instance. Everyone in the family is talking about it and we’re all really proud of her.’

To donate to Erika’s charity attempt go to justgiving.com/fundraising/erika-catarina before September 20. Or text 70070 with the AOFB86 with how much you wish to donate.
