Summer reading challenge for kids in Hampshire

CHILDREN are being invited to take part in a summer reading challenge.

The Big Friendly Read Challenge 2016 is taking place at all Hampshire libraries next month and throughout the summer holidays. It will encourage children to expand their own reading and learn about the themes of different books.

The challenge for children aged four to 11 is to read six books of any sort from fact and fiction to picture books and joke books, borrowed from a library.

Every time a book is finished, a card is given out for a folder and there is a certificate and medal for everyone who finishes. It is from July 16 to September 17.
