Thousands raised as charity holds annual Burns Night

The event at Ferneham Hall in Fareham in aid of The Rainbow Centre was a sell-out with over 230 people attending.

Crowds were treated to an action-packed night with traditional bagpipe band The Woodsiders Ceilidh Band providing the music before a serving of haggis.

Following the meal, the guests then headed out on to the dance floor to the same band and were taught a range of traditional Scottish dances.

Kelle Russell, event organiser at The Rainbow Centre, said: ‘The money raised at Burns Night will be enough to pay for 175 hours of conductive education sessions for our adult and child participants.

‘The centre currently supports 91 children and adults. We are so grateful to everyone that came along and supported the event; we cannot thank you enough for enabling us to continue helping so many participants across the south coast.’

The Rainbow Centre, based in Fareham, supports children and adults with cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and those recovering from a stroke or head injury across the Solent.
