Early-hours crash on M27 sees one man hurt

A MAN had to be rescued from his car after an early morning crash on the M27.

Fire crews from Cosham, Fareham and Southsea were called to the scene, between Junction 9 Whiteley and Junction 10 Wickham on the eastbound carriageway, at 5.25am this morning.

The vehicle, a red saloon car, was found on its side. Firefighters removed part of the seat and extracted the male driver, who was alone, via the back bumper by 5.45am. He was taken to hospital by ambulance.

It is not known how the crash happened and police are investigating.
