Firefighters attend blaze at old naval site in Southsea
FIREFIGHTERS put out a blaze at an old naval base.
The Southsea crew was called to the disused Ministry of Defence land off Fort Cumberland Road yesterday evening.
A spokesman said there was a small fire in the open which was put out quickly. They were called at about 7pm.
As previously reported by The News, residents nearby said fires were started there often although the fire service said they were unaware of any problems.
Police have previously had to remove young people from the site.
