Fallen tree blocking train line between Portsmouth and London

A FALLEN tree is blocking the train line between Portsmouth and London.

South Western Railway are reporting that they expect disruption and delays to last for hours.

The tree is blocking the line between between Godalming and Haslemere and the Portsmouth bound line is blocked.

Disruption is expect to last until 10am.

SWR Help tweeted: ‘Due to a tree blocking the railway between Godalming and Haslemere the Portsmouth bound line is blocked.

Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

‘Disruption is expected until 10:00.’

On its website, SWR adds that train tickets will be accepted on the following services at no extra cost:- Stagecoach South bus routes 70 & 71.

The rail franchise added: ‘We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.’
