Seven vehicle accident on M27 causes travel misery for motorists

The ‘multi vehicle’ collision, which involved seven vehicles, occurred between the Junction 11 Fareham turn off and the M275 exit for Port Solent.

The crash resulted in two lanes on the eastbound carriageway being blocked which at its peak caused delays of around 80 minutes. The latest reports suggested delays were around 35 minutes.

A police spokesman said: ‘We were called at 8.23am with a report of a seven vehicle collision on the M27 between junctions 12 and 11 eastbound, which has blocked lanes two and three. We have attended along with the Highways Agency. No injuries have been reported.
