Darren Sullivan, 54, told The News he and his partner were left stunned after realising their car had been involved in the crash. ‘Me and my wife were indoors when we heard some scraping, which sounded like a wheelie bin getting dragged along the road.

‘We went out and looked and there was a car piggy-backed onto another car. Then my wife said: “That’s our car underneath.”

‘We were bewildered and in disbelief.’

But Mr Sullivan, who saw the funny side of the bizarre episode, added: ‘It’s a car and no one was hurt. Worse things happen. At least the back windscreen wiper is still working.’
