A PENSIONER has driven into a building in Fareham.
Emergency services were called to Trinity Street at 3.24pm after a 70-year-old man crashed into a wall.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said he was treated at the scene by firefighters before being passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service (Scas).
An eyewitness to the scene, Alexandru Brasaliga, said the commotion came as ‘a surprise’.
The 22-year-old, who works at Kens Kebab House and Speedy Pizza – close to where the crash happened – said: ‘We have cameras and I saw lots of traffic and people, so I went outside to see what happened.
‘The front of the car was broken and you could see it was a car that hit the building.’
Mr Brasaliga said emergency services arrived on the scene ‘within five minutes’ – but claims the driver of the car ‘looked okay’ when he left his vehicle.
A crew from Fareham Fire Station, which attended the incident, left the scene after an hour.
The News has contacted Hampshire Constabulary and Scas for more information.
