Watch: Huge blaze at fireworks factory

FIREFIGHTERS from across Hampshire are fighting a major blaze at a fireworks factory.

Homes were evacuated as the inferno left a huge pall of smoke hanging over the Bitterne area of Southampton this morning.

Ten fire crews were called to the premises in Bitterne Road West as scores of fireworks were set off.

The road was closed and drivers were urged to avoid the Area.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the scene at 5.06am after reports that a large warehouse used for firework storage was on fire.
