SNOW UPDATE: When is snow forecast to fall in your area?

The so-called '˜Beast from the East' is on its way to the UK, and snow is forecast to fall across the Portsmouth area.

Here is the forecast for each area in our region.

Portsmouth

Snow is most likely to fall on Thursday (when a yellow weather warning is in place). Light snow is forecast between early morning (6am) until the evening, with temperatures falling below freezing.

There could also be light snow on Tuesday lunchtime and Wednesday morning - although it is unlikely to settle.

Fareham

There is a decent chance of snow falling on Wednesday morning, but the majority of sleet is likely in the afternoon and evening of Thursday.

Temperatures could fall to -2C on Thursday, but it could feel more like -10C thanks to the wind chill factor.

Gosport

Some snow is expected on Wednesday morning but the majority will fall on Thursday, where there is between a 60 and 70 per cent chance of it falling.

Temperatures will fall as low as -2C.

Havant

There is a chance of light snow between 2pm and 4pm tomorrow as temperatures fall below freezing.

Some snow might fall on Wednesday morning, but like the wider area the majority will fall on Thursday.

Waterlooville

There is roughly a 30 per cent chance of snow falling tomorrow lunchtime, according to the Met Office.

Some snow could also fall on Wednesday morning, but the biggest chance of seeing snowflakes is on Thursday.

Snow is most likely to fall in the evening, and there’s a chance of more on Friday morning.
