Weekend of countryside experiences at fly fishery

Experience the outdoors and have a go at country sports such as fly fishing, clay shooting, air rifles and archery at the Meon Springs Country Experience Show next weekend.

The event, which is sponsored by Hendy Group, is at Meon Springs Fly Fishery, near West Meon next Saturday and Sunday.

The idea is to give people the chance to have a go at something new and enjoy outdoor pursuits.

On Saturday, angling expert Charles Jardine will be giving fly-fishing masterclasses.

Jamie Butler, who runs Meon Springs, said: ‘If you’re an angler or you’re thinking of taking up fly fishing then this show is for you.’

There are tractor rides, demonstrations of working gun dogs and bloodhounds, ferret racing, falconry displays, bushcrafts, milking cows and plenty of other attractions.

It costs £7.50 per person and children under 16 go free.
