Woman shut in lift at Portsmouth extra care development is freed by firefighters

FIREFIGHTERS have been called to free a woman from a lift. 

Crews from Cosham and Southsea were called to the extra care housing development Caroline Square, in Portsea, at 9.20am this morning after a report the woman was stuck. 

It was discovered the woman had been shut in – and was freed in under 15 minutes. 

Caroline Square, in King William Street, is a so-called ‘extra care’ housing development – which focuses on providing varying levels of care and support for older people.
