You simply have to hand it to Justine

The 24-year-old has been performing a handstand every day for a year – and finished on Wednesday.

Justine, of Station Road, Portchester, has raised hundreds of pounds for The Fire Fighters Charity.

She finished at Fareham fire station – where her stepfather Ian Harper, a firefighter, is based.

Justine said: ‘It’s pretty good to finish – I’m looking forward to the break.

‘I can’t believe it’s been a year. It was very involved, especially working full-time as well. I have lots of other things going on as well.

‘I did it for a reason and needed to finish it for that reason, too.

‘I don’t know what’s next at the moment, it’s been suggested I do cartwheels for a year but I might get a bit dizzy!’

Justine said she wants to raise cash for the charity again soon.

She has won praise from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and the charity after raising more than £360.

Assistant chief officer at the service, and The Fire Fighters Charity champion, Andy Bowers, said: ‘Justine’s achievement is remarkable and her efforts all the more poignant because, through her stepdad, she has an insight into the work firefighters do.

‘Her imaginative locations, on stations and by Hampshire landmarks, really helped raise awareness of the charity which is a fantastic cause close to our hearts.’

Tim Benyon, from the charity, said: ‘It’s only thanks to the incredible achievements of fundraisers like Justine that The Fire Fighters Charity can continue to provide life-enhancing services to firefighters recovering from illness or injury across the UK.’

Locations for the handstands have included outside the D-Day Museum.
