Harry Redknapp was born on March 2, 1947, in Poplar, London.
Who is he?
He is a former professional footballer - having played for West Ham and Bournemouth, as well as Seattle Sounders in America.
Redknapp went on to become a successful manager in a career spanning over 30 years.
Why is he famous?
‘Arry is best known as a football manager – having been in the hot seat for teams such as Portsmouth, leading them to win the FA Cup in 2008, as well as Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur – who he led to quarter finals of the Champions League.
He was also linked with the England manager’s position a number of times over the years.
Redknapp is also known for his personality and numerous quotes over the years.
Outside of football, he is known for corruption allegations – having been secretly filmed for BBC Panorama.
In the episode, which aired in September 2006, Harry Redknapp is secretly filmed discussing the possibility of buying the Blackburn Rovers captain Andy Todd with agent Peter Harrison, which is illegal under FA rules.
However, the programme merely showed Harrison approaching Redknapp and asking direct questions which Redknapp answered.
In 2012 he stood trial charged with two counts of cheating the public revenue, he was found not guilty on February 8, 2012.
