Portsmouth’s city centre ice rink will return for another year in just a matter of days. 

Going ice skating on an outdoor rink is one of the highlights of the Christmas season.

And Portsmouth residents will once again be able to go skating in Guildhall Square this year. 

Here’s all you need to know: 

Where is it? 

The ice rink will be in the city centre, in Guildhall Square next to Portsmouth’s Guildhall.

A short walk from Portsmouth and Southsea train station. 

When does it open?

The ice rink will open on Saturday, November 17 – so it is just seven days before you can get your skates on! 

Ice Skate and Moguls Alpine Bar Portsmouth confirmed the news that the rink is return on its Facebook page.

Skate Portsmouth signed a deal with the city council to put the rink in place every Christmas up until 2023. 

When will it close? 

You will have plenty of time to make the most of the ice rink 

so more than a month from now – and will stay until the New Year on January 6, 2019.

How much does it cost? 

If you are looking to go for a session of ice skating over the coming weeks, this is how much you will have to fork out: 

- Adult – £10.00

- Child (U16s) – £8.50

- Concession – £9.00

- Family – £32.00

What are the opening hours? 

It will be open every day, from November 17 to January 6 - except for Christmas Day. 

The sessions are as follows: 

Weekdays until December 14

- 11.45 - 12.45

- 13.00 - 14.00

- 14.30 - 15.30

- 15.45 - 16.45

- 17.00 - 18.00

- 18.30 - 19.30

- 19.45 - 20.45

- 21.00 - 22.00

Weekends and every day from December 15

- 10.30 - 11.30

- 11.45 - 12.45

- 13.00 - 14.00

- 14.30 - 15.30

- 15.45 - 16.45

- 17.00 - 18.00

- 18.30 - 19.30

- 19.45 - 20.45

- 21.00 - 22.00

Can you get food and drink? 

If you've worked up a thirst skating or need a drink to warm up – then head to Mogul’s Alpine Bar. 

It will serve draught beer, mulled wine, an array of festive drinks as well as Christmas artisan food.
