Christmas is set to well and truly arrive in Southsea in the coming days. 

The lights will be turned on across the area today as the festive season draws ever closer.

Here's everything you need to know about Southsea Christmas light switch on: 

When are the lights being switched on? 

The Southsea Christmas lights will be turned on today (November 15) – so just a few hours from now!

What time does it start? 

Festivities will start at 4pm on Thursday (November 15) before the lights are officially switched on at 6pm. 

Which gives you time to get home from work and head out to see them. 

Where is it? 

The Southsea Christmas lights switch on will take place on Palmerston Road on Thursday (November 15) – so in the heart of the area.

Will there be entertainment? 

Weather permitting there will be a fireworks display to go along with the Christmas light switch on. 

There will also be free, fun family event with local acts, dance schools and entertainers, Local Authors Fair* and Love Southsea Christmas market, a bar and children's rides.
