This is when Boris Johnson will reveal more information about national lockdown
Boris Johnson is set to lay out plans for a second England-wide lockdown to the House of Commons later today.
The Prime Minister confirmed that local restrictions would be swapped for a national lockdown from this Thursday, with the furlough scheme also set to be extended for the duration of the lockdown, which is initially scheduled to run until December 2.

Hide AdIt is expected that Mr Johnson will explain that the government had “no alternative” but to introduce the draconian measures.
Labour are set to back the introduction of measures, but will criticise the delay of weeks in introducing them.
What time is Boris Johnson speaking?
Boris Johnson is scheduled to address the House of Commons at 3.30pm.
This will be followed by a business update from Jacob Rees-Mogg and a general debate on Covid-19 restrictions

What will the Prime Minister say?
In his address to the House of Commons the Prime Minister is expected to say: "Models of our scientists suggest that unless we act now, we could see deaths over the winter that are twice as bad or more compared with the first wave.
"Faced with these latest figures, there is no alternative but to take further action at a national level."

Hide AdHe is expected to acknowledge that some MPS will claim that "we should have reached this decision earlier", before defending the government's earlier policy of "strong local action and strong local leadership".
How will the new lockdown work?
Under new measures pubs and restaurants will be closed, though takeaway will be permitted.
Non-essential shops, leisure and entertainment venues will also be closed for the duration of lockdown.
There will be no inter-household mixing indoors or outdoors unless they are within a support bubble.
English citizens will be encouraged to stay at home and only leave for exceptional reasons.
Schools, colleges and universities will remain open while outdoor exercise will be encouraged.
