Wiseman land treble at Leigh Park show

And Team Wiseman were celebrating triple victory as they marched on in the national competition.

Tyler Hallawell, Liam Wiseman and Bailey Donald were all winners for the Wecock club as amateur boxing fans were given a treat in the packed event.

Wiseman overcame Gosport’s Pearce Munday as he picked a unanimous decision in an exciting all-action bout.

Hallawell picked up victory in his rubber match with Poseidon’s Taylor Bevan in a meeting which was named bout of the day.

And Donald rounded off a strong afternoon for his club as he became a county king with success over Southampton’s Vinny Mandair.

They were just some of the 16 contests featuring clubs from all across the south.

Leigh Park featured heavily as they hosted the action, with Rhys McNamara leading the way for his club.

McNamara faced Copnor’s Mason Barr and took the decision as both talents gave it their all.

Declan Conlon’s battle with Poseidon’s Declan Kerins proved a nip-and-tuck affair which could’ve gone either way.

It was Kerins who got the split verdict – but Conlon’s impressive efforts saw him pick up the award for best Leigh Park boxer.

In a Southern Counties’ welterweight contest, Titchfield’s holder, Kieran Hughes, met St Mary’s Danny Barrett.

The contest didn’t disappoint as no quarter was given, before Barrett was eventually given the unanimous verdict.

Leigh Park’s Luke ‘Too Smooth’ Booth and Heart of Portsmouth’s Louis Mitchell locked horns, with Mitchell getting the unanimous win.

Bright local hopes for the future shone in skills bouts which entertained the crowd.

Leigh Park’s Reece Gough met Copnor’s Seb Emery, with Stacey’s Fin Lotos going up against Leigh Park’s Harvey Reece.

A trio of other Leigh Park boxers saw their contests go against them but could hold their heads high after their displays.

It was also a split decision which separated Leigh Park’s Harrison Notter and Fighting Fit’s Hasnan Aktar at the show.

Leigh Park’s Declan Gough started strongly against Poseidon’s Cane Chapman, but it was Chapman who finished better and took the judges’ verdict.

Poseidon’s Jadon Prior grabbed a first-round stoppage win against Leigh Park’s Jack Taylor.

Stacey’s Albie Warren lost out to Golden Ring’s Louis Kirwan in an exciting clash, with Stacey’s Harry Bird seeing the decision go to Poseidon’s Curtis Rennie.
