Credit to Taxpayer as they hunt down Stag

Steve Humby, Barry Gibson and Paul La Roche propelled Taxpayer into a 3-0 lead before Colin Prout got Stag off the mark.

Taxpayer’s Andy Newcombe made it 4-1 with a 16-dart leg and Lee O’Donovan sealed their win with the next set.

Andrew Dunn took a consolation for Stag with a 140 game-shot before Steve Ockendon added Taxpayer’s seventh and Mark Smith won the last set as a consolation for Stag.

Admiral Drake C jumped up to third in division B after securing a 6-3 victory over Newcome Arms B.

Tony Small and Ron Neale put Newcome 2-1 up after Dave Lock won the opener for Drake.

Drake then seized control with wins from Luke Smith – 180 – Luke Graf, Liam O’Driscoll and Danny Browne bagging the points.

Paul Flannery took a consolation for Newcome before the last leg was awarded to Drake’s Louis Arnell as a walkover.

Division C basement-side Druids Arms B enjoyed a 5-4 triumph against George & Dragon.

George took a 3-1 lead through Shaun Hodges, Tony Plummer and Robbie Brooks while Druids only early resistance came from Tony Smith.

Paul Boden and Steve Hansford struck for Druids but Kevin Woodput George back in front.

The penultimate leg went to Druids’ Chris Brown to make it 4-4 and his team-mate Darren Robson won the decider to take the points.

Fawcett Inn led throughout their division D clash with Admiral Drake A and emerged as 6-3 victors.

William Leach, Tom Morley and John Dungworth put Fawcett in the driving seat before Simon Hughes pulled a leg back for Drake to make it 3-1.

John Morley and Pete Hollingdale gave Fawcett an insurmountable lead with legs either side of a Drake win from Richard Lindford.

Mark Mitchell took a consolation for Drake before Josh Olden added a sixth for Fawcett.

Mike Symes (Admiral Drake B) threw 14 and 17-dart legs with a 180 and Paul Wain (Shearer Arms) and Danny Smith (Admiral Drake B) notched 15-darters, checking out on 146 and 104 respectively.

Dan Eade (Phoenix North End B) scored 180 in a 16-dart leg and Kevin Wilson, Phil Rudder (both Mr Pickwick), Vince Aston (Phoenix North End B) and Jon Bramble (Shearer Arms) all finished legs in 18 darts, Bramble also scored 180.

Robert Blake (Shearer Arms) fired in a 128 game-shot and Paul Drinkwater (Portland Arms) checked-out on 102.
