Evans helps Swanmore to shine against Stars

The Christmas turkey didn't make any difference in the All About Netball league on Monday night.

In division one Shooting Stars had a tough game against Swanmore, who eventually won 14-8.

Sarah Kerley, for Stars, had a busy weekend with netball both days.

But this didn’t stop her making great interceptions and feeding the ball well.

Lynn Evans was named as best player for Swanmore after great play down the wing.

Cams Hill School, still holding on to second place in the division, beat Cams Chaos 16-10.

Megan Wallace, making some perfect drives for Cams, and Chaos’ Debbie Massey were named players of the match.

Hughes & King suffered a disappointing loss, despite some great shooting from captain Lisa King, against Tornadoes.

They upped their game in the last quarter, making a couple of significant changes, seeing Lisa Coppins-Brown in to shoot, to win 15-13.

Knowle Hotshots lost to West Hill Warriors, who lived up to their name and were taking no prisoners.

Excellent game reading saw Poppy Hudson impress for Warriors, and Helen Manuel looked sharp for Hotshots.

Although Hotshots currently sit at the bottom of division one this is a huge achievement for this team who were back to netballers last year.

Division two saw another win for Bounties as they overcame Cams Confusion 22-9.

Issy Eustace stood out for the Cams team and Jodie Jones took players’ player again for Bounties.

One Com had one of their best games so far of the season, beating Fareham Flyers, 23-12.

Emma Butler found the goal with nearly every shot for One Com.

Down the court, Lindsey Howells, also shooting but for Flyers, was hitting the target but just wasn’t getting the chance to convert as the defensive players for One Com were on fire.

Cams Commotion recorded a good 23-14 victory against Oceans.

Alex Hughes, on form for Oceans, made some quick moves and drove into the circle strongly.

Cookies didn’t fare as well as sister team Bounties, losing to Fareham Fireflies Lilac 22-9.

However, Marie Todd shone for Cookies with quick reactions to loose balls.

In division three, Devils beat Delme Diamonds 27-13. It was a tough game for the Diamonds but the girls in their maiden season keep smiling. Donna Parsons was players’ player for them.

Wildcats beat Victor Stewart seconds 26-8 with some awesome shooting from young Sasha Chamberlain.

Netstars sealed promotion beating Victor Stewart 24-13.
