Agent: Norwegian clubs cannot afford Erik

Tore Pedersen doesn’t believe Norwegian clubs can afford to buy his client, who has been put up for sale by the Blues.

Pompey bought the 27-year-old from Bari in a £1.5m deal back in August.

Now they are now seeking just under a million for a player who has scored six goals in 28 matches.

According to Pedersen, that cut-price figure remains too pricy for clubs in his native Norway.

He insists there continues to be interest from sides back home.

Among them are former club Brann, who are long-time admirers.

But not at the sums Pompey are talking about for the highly-regarded international.

Pedersen said: ‘There’s nothing special going on with Erik at present, there is no news.

‘At the moment there is no interest outside of Norway.

‘Brann and other Norwegian clubs are interested but they don’t have the money to buy him.

‘There is not much money in the Norwegian game at the minute.

‘So I just cannot see those clubs being able to buy him at those prices.

‘We’ve just got to wait and see what happens.’

Huseklepp made a big impact at Fratton Park following his arrival from Italy.

But he was one of those sacrificed from February with the club needing to make cuts and bring in income.

The former Bari man moved on loan to Birmingham, where he scored twice in 11 appearances.

The majority of his time, however, was spent as a substitute and with the St Andrew’s side currently under a transfer embargo he has returned to Pompey.
