The all-time FA Cup record that Hawks have helped to equal in 2020/21 ...

Hawks are part of a record-equalling amount of non-league clubs who have won through to the second round of the FA Cup this season.

It is also the second time in their history that Hawks have got through to this stage. The first was in 2007/08, when there were also 14 non-league clubs in the second round.

Also in the second round in 2007/08 were Staffordshire club Chasetown, who went on to become the first (and so far only) club from the eighth tier of English football to reach the third round proper. To put that into context, it is the same as Moneyfields reaching the third round proper.

This season, Marine (Northern Premier League North West) and Canvey Island (Isthmian League South East) could emulate Chasetown - and both have second round ties against fellow non-league opposition. While Marine are hosting Hawks on Sunday (2.45pm), Canvey are hosting three divisions higher Boreham Wood the following evening.

Hawks have yet to play a club from a higher division in this season’s competition. In five rounds, they have been drawn against clubs from three tiers lower (Chatham), two tiers lower (Cray Valley and Marine) and one tier lower (Horsham).

In the fourth qualifying round, they were drawn at National League South rivals Bath City.

Previously, the 1975/76 season was the first to feature 14 non-league clubs in the second round. Among the list were two who went on to win the FA Cup - Wimbledon (1988) and Wigan Athletic (2013).
