Baffins facing another away tie in FA Vase
BAFFINS MILTON ROVERS have been handed another tough away assignment in the last 32 of the FA Vase.
Steve Leigh's team will travel to South East Counties League outfit Cray Valley following yesterday's draw.
Baffins were 3-1 winners at Bradford Town in the last round on Saturday and will be hoping to extend their run in the FA Vase.
Cray Valley needed penalties to see off Merstham to book a date with Leigh's troops.
The PMC Stadium boss said: '˜It would have been nice to have a home draw but we will approach the game in a positive frame of mind.
'˜They play at the same level as us and we will make sure that we do our homework.
'We have already shown at Bradford and Bashley that we are capable of winning away from home.
'˜At this stage of the competition, whoever you meet it is going to be tough.
'˜We will prepare right and aim to get ourselves into the last 16.
'˜It is only our second-ever year in this competition so what we have achieved already is outstanding.
'˜We have a lot of young players who are learning all the time.
'˜The average age of our team must be around 19 or 20 years of age.
'˜They showed at Bradford just how hard they are prepared to work for each other.
'˜As a team they play with great enthusiasm and want to keep improving.
'We like to get the ball down on the deck and play our football at a good tempo.'
The tie is scheduled for the weekend of Saturday, January 5.
Meanwhile, Fareham Town are hoping to avoid an upset against United Services Portsmouth in tonight's Hampshire Senior Cup tie at Cams Alders (7.45pm).
Horndean face AFC Bournemouth in the same competition at Five Heads Park on Wednesday (7.45pm).
Both Wessex League premier division hosts are hoping their games go ahead after both suffered postponements at the weekend due to the rain.Â
