Christian Burgess got the only goal of the game at Brisbane Road today to put two defeats on the bounce to bed.

But the margin of victory could easily have been greater with the Blues dominant.

Cook was delighted to see his side play with the kind of style he expects.

He said: ‘This club had a great football result today.

‘The players deserve plaudits for their efforts.

‘It was more like the Portsmouth team I want to see.

Football is about how you play and we must press from the front.

‘Last week we didn’t get started against Doncaster.

‘We started today and that was a lot more like the side I want to see.’
