How did you see that?

For 50 minutes it reminded me of Crawley last season when their fans celebrated a goalless draw like they had won the FA Cup.

Those tactics were disgusting, how can you have no ambition and a lack to win at home?

I was a bit concerned that was happening again.

Eoin Doyle missed that chance but I never felt we were going to lose it – although I was unsure whether we could break them down. Thankfully the patience paid off.

So can Pompey stay in the top three?

I cannot say with any certainty it will definitely happen, you just never know with this Pompey side.

They could struggle at Colchester at the weekend.

It would be naive to make confident predictions at this stage.

Only three days ago a number of supporters wanted Cook out but last night everyone was behind him.

We just have to avoid those play-offs again.

Who was your man of the match?

Christian Burgess scored the all-important first goal and was generally solid. I never really felt nervous with our defence.

He attacked the ball so well and was like a man possessed, giving a proper old-fashioned celebration by sliding on his knees.

I’ve only seen Pompey five times this season and he has scored twice.

His reaction showed how much he wants it, I think he gets Pompey – and he is a likeable lad.

The fans were in fine voice, too.

Definitely, the supporters were having superb banter with stewards, who were decent.

It was a great atmosphere with the supporters getting right behind the team and I loved the ‘We’re on our way’ chant which lasted 10 minutes.

There was a lovely feeling of optimism, now we just need to string those winning performances together.

Dan’s ratings: David Forde 7; Gareth Evans 7; Christian Burgess 8; Matt Clarke 8; Enda Stevens 7; Michael Doyle 7; Danny Rose 7; Carl Baker 8; Kal Naismith 7; Kyle Bennett 7; Eoin Doyle 7
