Former Fareham school pupil impressing during his debut season of American college football

Ken Pryde has been nominated for 2020 Male Rookie of the Year after a successful first season playing football for The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.

Pryde, formerly of Brookfield Community School in the Locks Heath borough, is currently studying Mathematics at the private college that was founded by a group of Benedictine Sisters in 1912.

Previously, he had played for Barton Peveril College and for the Hampshire Schools team.

Barton Peveril football coach Simon Woodley said: ‘We are very proud to hear that Ken has settled into his new team so well, continuing his form for college into university.

“While Ken was at Barton Peveril he was an ever-present for the Elite Football Team, playing every minute of every game throughout his two years at college.

‘It’s fantastic to see him doing so well while studying abroad.’
