Millionaire chairman Glen Tamplin has invested heavily in the Essex side.

He has assembled a powerful squad.

They are odds on favourites to win their league and Hawks manager Lee Bradbury thinks the away draw will present a big challenge for his team.

He also feels they won’t be expected to win despite being from the higher division.

‘It is without doubt one of the hardest draws we could have got,’ said the Hawks boss.

‘To be fair their chairman has put his money where his mouth is, investing in both the team and the facilities.

‘It will be strange going into a tie against a team playing a level lower as the underdogs.

‘They are strong favourites to win their league.

‘Their squad contains a blend of proven non-league players and players who have dropped down from the Football League.

‘They possess a lot of experience and that makes them a hard side to play against.

‘However it is a game our players will be excited about and look forward to.

‘The game is on their patch so all the pressure will be on them.

‘With our away form being as good as it is, it has the makings of a good game.

‘It is undoubtedly one of our toughest away games so far this season.

‘We have shown away from home that we are a difficult side to beat with just one loss so far this season.’

The Hawks beat Bostik League premier division Dorking Wanderers 3-1 on Saturday in their opening FA Trophy game.

Bradbury knows Billericay, however, will prove to be a much harder nut to crack.

The Essex side won 2-0 at Hungerford Town in the last round and will be keen to take another Vanarama League South scalp.

The winners of Tuesday night’s replay between Bognor and Hemel Hempstead Town at Nyewood Lane will face a trip to Taunton Town.

The Rocks and the Tudors drew the first encounter 1-1 at Vauxhall Road.

Taunton will present a tricky task as they currently head the Southern League west division table with just one defeat.

Ties take place on Saturday, December 16.
