Victory at the Keepmoat Stadium would equal the Blues' best league start to a season in the club's 119-year history.

And Kenny Jackett has retained the team which beat Oxford United and Bristol Rovers recently.

That once again means no starting spot for club captain Brett Pitman, who assisted Ronan Curtis in his late winner on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Conor Chaplin has not travelled with Pompey and is not present in the 18-man squad.

He has been replaced on the bench by Louis Dennis, who has been a marginal presence so far this term.

Pompey: MacGillivray, Walkes, Whatmough, Clarke, Brown, Naylor, Thompson, Evans, Curtis, Hawkins, Lowe.

Subs: McGee, Haunstrup, Pitman, Wheeler, Close, Dennis, Burgess.
