In an interview for Pompey Player, the attacker reflected on a lack of cutting edge to the Blues’ play in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers.

‘It was a disappointing game to be fair, but I think the gaffer was pleased with the team performance,’ said Lowe.

‘I think we created a few chances but didn’t really have that cutting edge, but I think it is coming.

‘The chemistry in the team is really good.

‘After this week in training we have really focused on making sure we’re decisive in the final third, so hopefully that will show in Saturday’s game.’

The 22-year old, who was making his first start for the club since his January move from Hampton & Richmond, had a chance in the early stages of the game, but his shot went just wide.

‘Honestly I would’ve expected to score but I have just dragged it a little bit,’ he said.

‘You just have to be in the right place at the right time as much as you can really.

‘Hopefully on Saturday we will get more opportunities and we will be able to use them and actually score.’

Lowe insisted that the style of play employed by Paul Cook was well suited to him and his Pompey team-mates.

He said: ‘The way the whole team plays, it’s not just to my strengths but to everyone’s strengths.

‘We like to pass it, we like to play quick, attacking football. That is the type of football that I’ve been playing and that is the type of football we play.’
