Pensioner to pay hundreds for assaulting woman

A PENSIONER has been fined over an assault on a woman.

Utrick Casebourne, 74, of High Street, West Meon, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He also admitted a charge of criminal damage to the woman’s spectacles, items of crockery, kettle and coffee machine.

Both offences were committed on December 4 in High Street, West Meon.

Magistrates imposed a community order with 20 days of rehabilitation activities. He must pay a £200 fine, £80 victim surcharge, £85 prosecution costs and £70 compensation.
