Pompey target is '˜too good for League Two'
Josh Yorwerth is a very good player and Crawley are lucky to have him. They really do need to keep hold of him.
He is an attacking defender. If he’s in the middle of the defence, he’ll often pop up in a defensive-midfield role.

Hide AdJosh gets forward more than you would expect of a defender. He is a ball-playing centre-back but that can sometimes get him in to trouble.
One area he needs to improve is when he plays the ball out from defence. He can sometimes dwell on the ball for too long as he looks for the right pass.
Crawley’s rearguard has been solid, though, and I think Josh has had a lot to do with that success.
He usually plays in a back five but he has always wanted to be a central midfielder.

Hide AdHis best game this season so far was in a goalless draw with Luton Town.
Crawley weren’t expected to get anything from the game but he was the stand-out player against the League Two leaders.
It is very rare the Welshman has a bad game and, when fit, he is usually in the starting line-up.
He has been very important for Crawley in that role and, in my opinion, he has the potential to become a Championship or even Premier League player.

Hide AdOne thing is for sure, he is too good for League Two. There is room for improvement but his general defending and ability to get forward is very good.
He is 22 now and only time will tell if he does make it into a higher league.
Josh has played in 14 of Crawley’s 15 wins so far this term and that just goes to show how important he is to the team.
When Crawley won 3-0 away at Swindon, he was very good. The Reds lost to Luton when he was recently sidelined with an ankle injury.

So it’s fair to say, when Yorwerth plays Crawley generally deliver good performances.
He is a good leader. You can hear him on the pitch alongside Mark Connelly. They are two very commanding defenders.
Jimmy Smith is the club captain but either Yorwerth or Connelly could be the captain as well.

Hide AdI don’t think he can play out wide because his passing does lack a bit. He does have the pace, though.
And the defensive side of his game is better than Crawley’s wing-backs. But I think he is much better suited to a more central role.
