Pitman delighted at helping Portsmouth go top after returning to side

Pitman scored one and provided an assist for Jamal Lowe's leveller as Kenny Jackett's side picked up a 3-1 win at Rochdale.

The skipper knows the significance of that success against opposition he rates, as he made just his second league start of the campaign.

He said: '˜I want to start but the team has been doing well.

'˜But it was nice to come into the side and get a goal.

'˜I don't think you can disrespect Rochdale.

'˜They're certainly better than an ugly side and play some nice football.

'˜So we had to work hard for the win and we're pleased to get it.'
