First-half goals from Tom Naylor and Oli Hawkins did the damage for Kenny Jackett's side as the Blues recorded their sixth league win on the road this term.

I felt for an hour we were well in control.

We got ourselves in a good position in the first half and it was something similar in the first 15 minutes of the second.

We had chances and opportunities and had the ball in good situations.

But they got an excellent goal through Hanson and it made the afternoon harder than we would've liked.

That's why I'm so hurting with what the first half was.

It was sort of a game of two halves.

In the first half we did really well with it, getting a 2-0 lead, and the second half they put a load of pressure on us and we did really well to hold out and get the three points.

I thought we played really well in that first half, we had chance after chance and it's a shame couldn't go in at the interval more than 2-0 up.

I had a couple of chances, there were a few other chances which maybe we should have done better with, and the scoreline may have been different.

But you are going to take 2-0 up at half-time '“ and we dug at second half.

I think 3-0 would have killed the game off, but Wimbledon did well and got the goal back.

As soon as it goes 2-1 you are worried, the team backs off a little bit and then invite more pressure '“ but we coped well with it.

Pompey were made to cling on for a deserved AFC Wimbledon victory.

Yet that should not detract from an outstanding opening 60 minutes at Kingsmeadow.

Kenny Jackett's side were sublime in the first half, entering the break 2-0 up.

Wimbledon substitute James Hanson pulled one back to spark the nerves, but the resilient Blues managed to see out a tense win.

Nerves were shredded at the end of a breathless victory as Pompey continued their flying away form.

It's now a phenomenal seven wins and a draw on the road from eight appearances this term after the 2-1 win at AFC Wimbledon.

Kenny Jackett's side had to dig deep to continue that form as they withstood a Dons' onslaught, after a beast of a 63rd-minute strike from sub James Hanson.

Pompey were 2-0 up at that point and should have been out of sight as they carved out a raft of chances with another powerful away attacking showing.

The fact they didn't kill the game is a slight cause for concern for Jackett, but the emphasis has to be on the positives as his side show strength at both ends of the pitch to remain top of the League One pile.
