Portsmouth boss: No squad rotation for FA Cup clash

The Blues are bidding for an 11th away win of the campaign when they head to Spotland on Sunday (2pm).

Attempts at extending the club-record form will be bolstered by Jackett once more declining to rotate his squad for the FA Cup.

As in the 4-0 victory over Maidenhead in the previous round, Pompey's boss insists he will largely retain the side which has topped League One for more than two months.

Instead changes are pencilled in for Tuesday night's Checkatrade Trophy clash with Arsenal under-21s.

Jackett said: '˜We'll put a strong team out again, we have a game on Tuesday night against Arsenal under-21s so will definitely make changes for that one.

'˜Similarly to the Maidenhead game, we want to progress and try to win.

'˜If it was a league game on Tuesday night maybe it would be slightly different, but we don't play until the following Saturday so will be as strong as we can.

'˜We've got into a good groove which has been hard earned. It's easy for that to slip away in football, as we all know, so we have to keep concentrating, keep our head down and look forward and enjoy the next challenge '“ which comes at Spotland on Sunday.

'˜Our build-up won't change, it's slightly out of routine to a degree, being Sunday rather than Saturday, but that really is no problem for us.

'˜We just look forward to the game and will do everything we can to try to progress in the competition and hopefully keep the momentum going.'

Sunday represents the third time since April the sides have locked horns at Spotland.

Previous encounters include a 3-3 draw, while the Blues claimed a 3-1 success in September.

Jackett added: '˜Both clubs know each other very well.

'˜Keith Hill has done a great job there over many years, consistently punching above their weight and giving people problems at this level.

'˜We won 3-1 there earlier in the season, but they were in it right up until the end, there's no doubt about that.'
