Although, the left-winger remains more likely to be called upon for Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy fixture with Spurs under-21s.

Kenny Jackett has been pleased with how the Aston Villa loanee has fared during his week's return to full training following injury.

It has been two months since Green was last available for first-team duty, with his most recent appearance arriving in the 1-1 Fratton Park draw with Shrewsbury.

The 20-year-old wasn't risked in Tuesday's reserve defeat at AFC Wimbledon in the Central League Cup.

However, Jackett is weighing up his involvement on the bench for Saturday's visit to York Road in the FA Cup first round.

The manager said: '˜I think Andre is there or thereabouts, Saturday or Tuesday.

'˜We obviously then have a break for 10 days, but if he can get in and around the first team on Saturday or Tuesday, or both, then that will be good.

'˜I will make a decision on how he is, but I think he's okay. He has trained well, feels good and feels okay. Being part of these two fixtures will really help him.

'˜Then, for the remainder of his loan, he can make a big impression, which we all know he is capable of.

'˜I don't think Andre will necessarily start on Saturday, and whether he is sub or not I don't know, but quite naturally things may fall in.

'˜You can never tell what is going to happen, but it does look quite naturally it could open up for him on Tuesday.'

Pompey host Spurs in the week having already qualified from the group stages for the knockout format.

Their next league encounter is the trip to Scunthorpe on Saturday, November 24.

The Blues' scheduled home fixture with Charlton on November 17 was last week postponed due to international call-ups for the Addicks.

That match has since been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 11 (7.45pm).
