The on-loan Birmingham defender broke his Blues duck in tonight's 3-0 victory over Rochdale.

Seddon came off the bench to double Kenny Jackett’s side's advantage – after Ryan Williams opened the deadlock on the stroke of half-time – with a stinging left-footed effort in front of the Fratton End on 78 minutes.

Then he played a key role to put the gloss on Pompey’s win when his free-kick was glanced home by Christian Burgess in the closing stages.

The Blues moved up to third in the League One table with the win – and Seddon toasted the occasion.

He said: ‘The most important thing was getting three points.

‘It wasn’t easy with the wind and as a team, especially on a Friday night, you just want to win.

‘The win puts us third and it was a good win.

‘Cam did great because he just put it in front of me and invited me to hit it. I wanted to drive it low and hard across and it did exactly that.

‘It was a great feeling getting a goal in front of the Fratton End – I enjoyed it.’
