- Pompey play final warm-up game
- Team expected to contain triallists and youngsters
Play restarts
Two changes at the break with Hirst and triallist Francillette off for academy youngsters Kaba and Jewitt-White
Ndukwu in the middle
Interesting to see Ndukwu used in the middle today. Played as a attacking midfielder and winger in recent years but utlised in a holding role today. Looked fairly comfortable there.
Play slowing
Three mins to the break and a bit of a lull in play. Little of note in the past few mins
Triallist identified
The giant triallist centre-half has been identified as Ludwig Francillete who has been Newcastle until this summer
Great chance for a second as Hirst nods the ball down to Masampu on his own six yards out but he’s all left foot and doesn’t attack it with his right and the moment passes
Hirst update
First impressions of the striker - a big number nine. Some tidy hold-up play and played a part in the second with some nine link-up stuff. Quite mobile for someone of his size and has won all of his headers so far
Ball worked to Hackett-Fairchild who is through on goal but his finish is straight at Plain. Should’ve scored
