It’s been more than four months since Danny Cowley was sacked by Pompey.
While the ex-Blues boss remains without a job, he has been heavily linked with vacant managerial roles up and down the country.
Despite being bookies’ favourite at a number of clubs, those rumours are yet to come to fruition with the 44-year-old regularly appearing on Sky Sports or on the radio.
Cowley has recently been tipped with the Reading job after Paul Ince was sacked prior to their relegation to League One.
We’ve taken a look at the outfits the ex-Pompey head coach has been linked with since his Fratton Park departure in January.

At the start of May, the 44-year-old became the over-riding favourite to take over at Walsall. It came following Michael Flynn’s sacking from the Bescot Stadium in April after a run of one win in 21 league games. Cowley was also in the frame alongside ex-Southampton striker Kevin Phillips. Soon after his Pompey exit, Cowley was linked with the vacant Aberdeen job in February. Jim Goodwin was sacked in late January after a string of losses which saw them fall to consecutive 5-0 and 6-0 defeats. Jim Robson was later handed the role until the end of the season. Cowley was recently linked with another League One role following Darrell Clarke’s sacking at Port Vale. In mid-April, the former Huddersfield boss raced to the top of the betting market along with Karl Robinson and Leam Richardson. Andy Crosby was later confirmed to take temporary charge until the summer. Photo: Gareth Copley
Just days after his sacking by Pompey, Cowley was quickly linked with the vacant role at League Two outfit Swindon. Following Scott Lindsey’s decision to join struggling Crawley, the Robins were on the lookout for a new coach with Chris Hughton and Dave Artell early favourites alongside the ex-Blues boss. Former Chelsea coach Jody Morris was appointed but lasted just three months in the job before being sacked at the start of May. Photo: Pete Norton
