There is still no green light for football to recommence, although the EFL has underlined its determination to complete the 2019-20 campaign.

It's approaching eight weeks since Pompey were last in action amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The Blues are firmly in the promotion race as they sit fourth in League One with nine remaining fixtures.

But Evans believes football doesn’t begin by the end of next month then the season should be declared null and void.

That would confine Kenny Jackett's side to a fourth campaign in the third tier.

Evans told Kent Online: ‘We certainly can’t be completing last season in August, September or October.

‘I am very focused that we will hopefully go back to football. There are lots of things we need to overcome.

‘If we are not playing by July then I think then results expunged.

‘It would hurt the teams that I love enormously, teams like Leeds United (top of the Championship). I have love for Peterborough United and I have a love in Scotland for Celtic to be champions.

‘But, at the end of the day, if you can’t play the games, forget points average, forget everything.

‘This is unprecedented and it should be season expunged and people start again, start again as we started last summer.’
